Madison, Wisconsin is fast becoming a vegan-friendly city with a handful of vegan/vegetarian restaurants and coffee shops, Alliance for Animals' annual Vegantines Dinner and Dance, our Vegan Chili Cook-Off, and Spring Fiesta, the Madison Area Vegetarian Meetup Group, which holds vegan get-togethers regularly, and our first Mad City Vegan Fest during the summer of 2011. It's not San Francisco, but we're doing our best!

The Dandelion Food Cart is Back!
Now located on Library Mall near Memorial Union (just south of the fountain), from about 10:30am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. And on Saturdays ONLY, starting on April 30, 2011, they will be up on the Capitol Square at the Farmers' Market (in front of Starbucks).
Menu includes Texas Style BBQ Tofu, Rio Wrap, Sweet Potato Wrap, Dandelion Salad, Bajio's Style Seitan, Baked Tofu Sandwich, Side of Vegetables, Raw Oatmeal, and Homemade Chocolate/Peanut Butter Cups. Entrees are $6.50 to $7.50. Vegan friendly.and pastries and they don't charge extra for soy milk in your coffee.
Mother Fool's Coffeehouse serves vegan soups and pastries and they don't charge extra for soy milk in your coffee.
Green Owl Cafe's menu is hard to beat with lots of vegan entrees and desserts.
And remember other local vegan friendly restaurants: Supreme Pizza, Glass Nickel Pizza. Other places that are vegan-friendly are:Roman Candle Pizza, Shish Cafe, Dobhan, Sa-Bai Thong, Bandung, and Monty's Blue Plate Diner. Also Bloom Bake Shop in Middleton.
